Mountains

lyrics

I see my shadow that lurks in the dark
I ponder this and I ponder that
I see my shadow that lurks in the dark

I see my shadow that lurks in the dark
I ponder this and I ponder that
I see my shadow that lurks in the dark

Mountainside, Mountainside

Gonna go to the mountains now, gonna go, gonna go to the mountains now

I sentimental feel like a manikin
I find this detrimental staring at the Vatican
I positively tried to change my vibe
but in the city I find the two worlds collide
Do I lose all my hopes and aspirations
because pharmaceuticals exasperate
Giant buildings and billboards are overrated
All the multi-nationals conglomerate

And now I'm sitting in my cubicle
pleaing with my queen my boss she never lets me ever out early
All my body wants is to get dirty
Gonna go to the mountainside and get dirty
'Cause I been in this city for so long
A concrete jungle with a chain of wrongs
We must escape this corporate prison
Go to the mountainside, leave this dungeon

Gonna go to the mountains now, Gonna go, gonna go to the mountains now

I alone gross more than Mompos, a pueblo on the coast of Colombia, I'm sure some of ya understand this kind of flow.
We signed the same plan and written below it says you've signed your soul, to the man in bold letters. I shoulda planned this out better.
I'm at a desk all day in analysis, my left side developed paralysis, my brain must be covered in callouses, cause I didn't grow up in no palaces.
I was a farm-boy from the Rockies and maintained a healthy build. Ate all my vegetables and spent my days out in the field
But I watched too much tv and realized this life wasn't for me. I moved to the city, became obsessed with looking pretty.
Began to get paid and prayed I'd maintain this life til my dying day. But the doctor just showed me three damn spots where my blood is starting to clot.

It's time to seek a spot where I can go and grow old
What a relief that I've told what I believe
I don't know how long I've been here
I sure have not been counting
I will now cease to appear
I'm going back to the mountains
Back to the mountains!

It is filtered through progressive rock, funk, hip-hop, traditional rhythms from Latin America and West Africa, and pretty much anything they hear and see and feel. And smell. And taste. The band began in Antioquia, Colombia and was incubated in San Francisco. They continue to grow wings in Oakland, CA. ... more
